Meditation and Mindful Awareness
Meditation is the ancient practice of focusing our attention inward where we can directly experience the truth of who we are and attain a greater sense of well being. Truth be told, it’s why the yogis worked so hard to get their bodies into shape, so they could sit in meditation for long periods of time!! But you don’t need to sit for hours on end in a dark cave high on a mountaintop. Modern science shows us that minimal time is needed to get some serious health benefits.
For many people, especially those with busy minds, folks prone to anxiety, and those suffering from depression, the prospect of entering deeply into our mind is a scary prospect. Sitting down to meditate is not an option. So we need to take some important first steps, to cleanse our brains of the clutter and cobwebs. When we’ve taken those steps and our mind is clear for take off, meditation elevates us from our mind, bringing us to a place of peace and serenity.
We need to bypass the mind to get to the bliss.
This is where additional yogic practices come in. Pranayama (breathwork), mantras, and meditation together eased my depression and cleared the fog from my brain all those years ago. When I started, I couldn’t sit down with my mind and start meditating. So don’t think you can’t meditate, you simply need some tools! If I can learn to bypass my crazy mind, believe me, so can you! Because I had such deep entrenched depression and distorted thought patterns, I have deep respect for these practices. Learning to control my breath helped me to start to clear my mind, and using sound and mantras helped keep it clear. Of course, there are many more steps to awareness, and that’s where coaching comes in.
With expertly guided instruction, I steadily applied these practices to my own life. I was fortunate enough to study at sacred sites and ashrams around the world, in places like Tibet, Nepal, the Bahamas, Maui and California. It is my greatest pleasure to share these techniques with you. I teach the simple practices which helped me change my life from misery and pain to peace, joy and awareness of my many blessings.

By one estimate, there are over 3000 medical studies documenting its health benefits, which amount to approximately 76 reasons for you to start a daily meditation practice.
